Message from the Director

Dear Valued Subscribers

We have just launched MABIC’s new logo and direction and now heading towards an extremely busy year. It was fantastic to meet some of you at our launch and my sincere appreciation to you for sharing those moments with us.

With the renewed commitments to promote biotechnology, you can expect to see more output from MABIC in terms of publications, events and programmes. It is our hope that all our efforts will support the government’s agenda to bring this field to the helm.

Before, we could even recover from the exhaustion of organizing the launch, we are on our toes again. Next month, we are taking two journalists to Islamabad, Pakistan to attend a Journalists Exchange Programme. Members of the media are one of our core stakeholders as they have the power to dictate the public’s perception on biotechnology. Thus, it is important for this group to be well informed and exposed to the reality of biotechnology. This will ensure factual information being conveyed to the public and we hope to have more journalists programmes outside the country in future.

As usual your comments and suggestions are valuable to us. We look forward to hearing from you.

A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Sincerely,

Mahaletchumy Arujanan
Program Director
