Message from the Director

Dear valued subscribers

Greetings from the Windy City! I am writing this message in the midst of BIO 2006. It is heartening to see a strong delegation from Malaysia headed by the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation. Let’s hope that the world will see Malaysia’s seriousness in promoting biotechnology and progressing in this field. This is definitely the place to convince investors, seek partnerships and collaborations, and to keep abreast with the latest happenings in this field worldwide. Coupled with the encouraging allocation for the biotechnology sector in the Ninth Malaysia Plan, the industry is all set to put Malaysia in the global biotech map.

Back at home, MABIC successfully organized a seminar on “Commercialization of Crop Biotechnology” with MARDI as a host and co-organizer. The turnout for this seminar was simply overwhelming which shows clear interest of the local biotech players to pursue agriculture biotechnology. Get a detailed report on this event from our website.

Yours sincerely
