Message from the Director

Dear Valued Subscribers

Warm wishes from MABIC! Many of you must be just back from BIO Boston. It is heartening to hear about the many successful conclusions of new collaborations between Malaysia and other biotech players. It is MABIC’s wish to see all of these collaborations coming to fruition. This is one way to develop the biotech industry in this country. However, we should never lose track of our mission. Though, collaboration is a fast way to ensure the mushrooming of biotech industry, we need to also equally focus on developing homegrown technology. This will provide us the edge over others in this field and make us stand on our own feet.

MABIC as usual supports all efforts taken by the government in promoting biotechnology. In line with our mission and vision, MABIC is involved in organizing Asia Pacific Conference on Tissue Culture and Agribiotechnology (APaCPA). This conference will see eminent scientists from around the globe sharing their experiences and expertise. We truly hope local stakeholders will not miss this opportunity to listen to them.

We are also eager to announce our upcoming events and projects. We hope to do so very soon once things are firmed up and confirmed. Please check out our event calendar often.

We take this opportunity to make a very important announcement – WE ARE MOVING! MABIC is moving to the new campus of Monash University Malaysia which is just across the current location. We will announce our new address and contact details soon. You may still contact us via email.

See you in the next issue.

Sincerely

Mahaletchumy Arujanan
Executive Director
