Message from the Director

Dear valued subscribers

Since the announcement of the National Biotechnology Policy, our office has been overwhelmed with various queries from both local and international stakeholders regarding biotech developments in Malaysia. This simply tells us that Malaysian biotech scene is being watched and there are much potential for growth and progress, depending on the implementation of the policy. Let’s work hand-in-hand to make it a success.

In the coming issues, we also would like to highlight some of your research work or activities carried out at your institutes in BiCalert. Those who are interested to share your work are most welcome to write to us. We hope this will create awareness on what is happening at the local biotech scene.

As usual, we hope you enjoy this issue and your comments are most welcome to improve it further.

Sincerely,
Mahaletchumy Arujanan
Program Director
