Dear valued subscribers

I am pleased to communicate with all of you again through this issue of BiCalert. We have walked through half of 2006 and this might be the best time to reflect upon what we have accomplished so far and also review if things are going according to plan. We, at MABIC are already getting ourselves busy planning activities and projects for 2007.

We have a few more events lined up for this year and we hope to announce them once we have firmed up our programmes. Check our website regularly to keep yourself informed.

I am sure some of you will be attending the Agricultural Biotechnology International Conference (ABIC) 2006 in Melbourne, Australia next month. For more information on this event, you may click here. The other event that might interest you is Biotechnology Asia 2006 which will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 9 – 11 August 2006. For details on Biotechnology Asia 2006 click here. And for those who are involved in biodiesel, there is a Conference on Biodiesel on the 22 – 23 August 2006. Log on here for full detail.

Biodiesel Conference: Renewable Energy

22 – 23 August 2006

The Ritz Carlton, Kuala Lumpur

Biodiesel is quickly becoming one of the most popular alternative fuels to replace or supplement petroleum-based diesel. It offers a way to be environmentally friendly, and at the same time uses existing infrastructure for distribution virtually anywhere that diesel is sold. Biodiesel is often used as a blend with diesel, but can also be used in its pure form.

This Biodiesel: Renewable Energy conference is your perfect opportunity to learn about the trends and developments in latest achievements, along with technical developments and much, much more! This conference will focus on issues vital to the growth of Biodiesel throughout Southeast Asia. The conference will offer a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about biodiesel from world renowned leaders in the industry, who will bring a global perspective to the conference.

Presentation topics will include latest biodiesel technologies, feedstock sources, biodiesel blending and handling options, fuel distribution, markets and users and financing and investment opportunities in order to meet the needs of all biodiesel stakeholders.
