Message from the Director

Dear Valued Subscribers,

October seems to be a very short month with a long break in conjunction with two major festivals. Yet, nothing is stopping us at MABIC from planning and organizing events for the rest of the remaining months in this year. In fact, this has been the most active quarter for us. With just two and a half months left this year, we have a number activities planned out.

MABIC is proud to organize two communication workshops; one in Kuala Lumpur and the other in Penang in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and the Penang Chief Minister’s Office respectively. Check out details of these events on our event calendar. We are currently working out the details of our other events and these will be posted on our website as soon as they are confirmed.

In each issue of BiCalert we highlight some of the excellent work being carried out by local biotechnology players either from the research or the industry fraternity. This month we are glad to feature Prof. Ishwar Parhar, a well known neuroscientist from Monash University Malaysia.

As usual we hope this issue of BiCalert will be an enjoyable read.

Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya Puasa to everyone!

Sincerely

Mahaletchumy Arujanan
Program Director
