Message from the Director

Dear Valued Subscribers

We are meeting you in the last issue for the year 2005. We truly hope all our BiCalert issues were informative and educational. We welcome comments and suggestions from you to improve future issues.

Year 2006 seems to be a promising year for biotechnology with the Government showing much commitment in supporting this field as shown in Budget 2006. And we trust the much anticipated Ninth Malaysia Plan will have concrete plans to further boost the biotechnology industry.

We, at MABIC will be organizing many events in order to raise awareness and educate our stakeholders in issues related to biotechnology. Year 2006 will be a busy and an exciting year for us as we already have commitments from various organizations to collaborate on outreach programme. Some of our potential collaborators are University of Malaya, Centre for Biotechnology and Agricultural Research (CEBAR), investPenang, Universiti Sains Malaysia, USAINS, Malaysian Society for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MSMBB) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Look out for further announcements from us on our activities. For those who wish to be on our mailing list, please click here to sign-in as members.

We take this opportunity to wish everyone A MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

Yours sincerely,

Mahaletchumy Arujanan
Program Director
