Readers were polled this month with regards to their views on the correlation between law and its application towards biotechnology. 77% of readers believed that there is a general lack of lawyers well-versed in technical subjects like biotechnology, compared to 7% who believed that current numbers are sufficient and a further 5% who believes that current numbers need improvement.

Among those polled, 80% believed that it is important for lawyers to understand science, compared to 13% who voiced the possibility and a further 7% who gave no answer.

Readers also believed that biotechnology and law are interrelated (75%) compared to 21% who did not believe there was any correlation between the two.

Lastly, when queried on whether a biotechnologist with a law degree would have a good career prospect, readers were generally split between yes (39%) and maybe (50%) while a further 8% voted no, and 3% had no idea.
